What We Believe

ARB believes in the power of innovative companies to introduce technology, services, and solutions that will offset the effects of climate change and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient and, regenerative economy. We believe that a strong foundation of corporate values and a clear mission allows companies to thrive on this journey.

Several of our companies, and those of our funds, are Public Benefit Corporations and/or B Corps. We are guided by the principle that businesses can harness the power of their growth to be a positive force for their employees, the environment, and the local — and global — communities they operate in. We strongly encourage this instinct within our current and prospective community of portfolio companies.

We understand that meaningful and sustained growth takes time. Our commitment is to work with our portfolio companies and partners through both high points and low points in the pursuit of their strategic, financial, environmental and community goals.

OUR RESPONSIBILITIES

When we make an investment of any kind or size it is our responsibility to be responsive to the management team, to stay current on the business strategy, and to offer our most thoughtful advice when asked.

When we take a board seat it is our responsibility to invest in a long term trusting relationship with the management team and other board members. We strive to deeply understand the business trends, advocate for ESG measures, lend our experience and contacts to advance corporate goals, and help the management team stay on mission, even as the business model and strategy may shift with the realities of the marketplace.
